How Will The Law & Order Shows Stack Up Against A Busy Fall?

The Fall TV Schedule Is Packed

In addition to the premiere dates of Law & Order: SVU season 26 and Law & Order season 24, NBC has a full fall slate. Upcoming releases for the network include the Chicago shows, which air on Wednesday, September 25 at 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm EST. The week of the Law & Order premieres also marks the release date for The Irrational season 2, which comes out on Tuesday, October 1. A little over a month later, Night Court season 3 premieres at 8:30pm EST on November 19.

Law & Order: Organized Crime is moving to Peacock and will not have a network slot.

The busy fall for TV extends beyond NBC, as there are also some notable titles expected in November of this year. This includes the release of the highly anticipated Yellowstone season 5, part 2 on November 10. A week later, Paramount+ puts out fellow Taylor Sheridan-driven series Landman on November 17. Both Law & Order shows will still be on air by the time Yellowstone and Landman start their likely successful runs, providing potential competition among these major shows.

This attention grab will be partially mitigated by the fact that Law & Order will have a Thursday slot whereas Yellowstone and Landman will be released on Sundays. As a result, this will drive different audiences to each show as they could still experience both live without missing one or the other. Both Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU are such long-running and established shows that they will likely lead NBC to success once again this fall.
