What really bothered me about Georgie’s reduced role in Heartland is that we lost Ty in the season 14 premiere, and then almost immediately, Georgie stopped being a part of the main cast. It felt like the show lost two of its core characters at once. Seeing her briefly at the end of season 16 was nice, but it didn’t feel the same, and it was disappointing that she didn’t appear at all in season 17. I’m hopeful we at least get a glimpse of her in the next season.
She was mentioned in season 17, episode 3, when Amy was out doing Artery and mentioned her niece doing it on horseback. Now that the strike is over, both shows will have 10 episodes – one in the spring and the other in summer – so hopefully, Georgie will return to Heartland by the end.
It’s sad that both she and Graham thought they’d be better off elsewhere. She had a great thing going in Heartland, and I feel she’s making a poor choice. They could’ve given her a storyline about marriage or having a baby while living in Florida but visiting occasionally.
