Heartland

Heartland FACTS Fans Definitely DIDN’T Know..

I’m not much of a fan anymore, all because of Ty Borden’s death. Amy and Ty were the heart of the show—together, they faced every challenge and always found their way through. Their love story moved us to tears, especially during their breakups. I still get emotional just thinking about it. And now what? Is Heather going to leave too? I’m done with the show. They took away one of the best characters, and Amy without Ty just doesn’t feel right. They’ve ruined Heartland for me, so it’s goodbye. The show may go on, but not with me.

While I’ve enjoyed watching Heartland and appreciate the adaptation from the books, I can’t help but cringe at some of the inaccurate horse information they present. Granted, over 40 years ago, when I was also inexperienced and uneducated, I might have taken it as fact. But after a lifetime of education and hands-on experience—covering everything from behavior, diet, and boarding to breeding, training, and foal care—I know better. I still have a horse, my last one now, an amazing Arabian stallion. And if I can manage it, I’d love to get my grandson a nice pony. What I’ve learned is that while you can enjoy a show about horses, you shouldn’t take it as actual education. There are so many great resources out there for those who truly want to learn.
